We all are spending a lot of time in the world wide web. Some charities have now taken the plunge and offer possibilities how we can donate some of our time online. The possibilities range from donating actual computer time, so called ‘idle time’ to playing games (for free!) to donate food for shelter cats and dogs. Other web based charities use the internet to promote their good causes and collect funds. Charities have come out of the dusty offices and have taken the plunge into the wild ocean called web 2.0 (or are we already at version 3.0?). To be successful in raising awareness charities need a modern web presence and an interactive approach if they want to survive.
